There can be various reasons
behind hair loss in men, some of which are discussed below.
Genetics
Androgenetic alopecia, also known
as male pattern baldness, it is triggered by the genes you got from your
parents. How one inherits this isn’t clear, however it tends to run in the
family. So, if you have any close relatives who are balding, chances are high
that it can happen to you as well. As of now, the doctors don’t fully
understand why hair fall occurs due to certain hormonal changes, causing
baldness process gradually, however it starts with a thinning of the hairline
above your temples and crown. Male pattern baldness can start as early as your
teens depending upon your family history.
Medical Issues
If you are suffering from serious
or not so serious medical issues, it can cause temporary hair loss. However, if
you diet is low in protein and iron, that can also lead to hair loss. Those who
suffer from diabetes or lupus are at a higher risk of hair loss. There are side
effects of certain drugs that you take can cause hair fall such as Cancer,
Arthritis, Depression, Gout, High blood pressure, Heart problems and more.
Stress Or Shock
When body goes through severe
stress and shock that too triggers hair loss. In case of sudden or excessive
weight loss, a severe physical or emotional shock, surgery, or even fever and
the flu can bring hair loss that could last several months.
Infections
A lot of people don’t know this
but infections can also occur in the scalp area, thus causing bald spots and
patches. Ringworms can also cause this problem, however with treatment, the
hair starts growing back again.
Immune System
Sometimes, your body’s own immune
system attacks your hair follicles, causing small patches of hair to fall out.
You will not experience any kind of pain or sickness and this condition is not
contagious as well. You hair can grow back but can also fall out again.
There will be sudden hair loss
that will leave round bald spots about the size of a quarter in various places
on your head. This condition can be genetic, called as alopecia areata. It
usually begins in childhood and you are more likely to experience it if a
family member has it.
